Property:

Borax looks like white crystal or glass. The melting point of oc rhome crystal is at 742.5℃ with the density of 2.28. The meliting point of β rhomic crystal is at 664℃, with the denstity of 2.75. Anydrous Borax has the property of moisture absorption. Borax is not only dissolving in water, but also dissoves slowly in methanol to from a solution with the 13-16% contents of boron. The technical norm is Borax.

Usage:

The application of Borax is found in fine quality borosilicate glassmaking and optical glassmaking. In addtion, Borax is used as glaze for metal surface in porcelain enamel industry and seves as flux in the alloy welding.
